It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Norman Rae passed away on Wednesday morning (23rd ). Norman was a member of East Oxford BC before moving to Rover BC when East closed, after 2 seasons he moved to his present Club Headington BC where he was a member for over 20 years. Not only was Norman a very good bowler he was one of the nicest gentlemen you could meet on and off the green, he always had a smile, win or lose .
Norman was involved with Oxfordshire Bowling Association as the Under 25s manager / secretary from 2003 -2009.
He will be sadly missed by the many bowlers’ who knew Norm.
The funeral details are: Garford Crematorium ( South Oxfordshire) Besselsleigh OX13 5PA Thursday 28th August 2025 @ 12 00pm.
Chris Weller adds: I can only agree , as I am sure most bowlers who would have played with, or knew Norman would agree with John's comments on Norman. a pleasure to know. and a pleasure to play with or against.
