2025 BOWLS OXFORDSHIRE SECTION CODE OF CONDUCT APPLICABLE TO ALL COMPETITORS IN COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES
This code of conduct shall apply to all players representing Bowls Oxfordshire when competing in any of the following: Under 25 or Under 31’s Matches, Inter-County Friendlies, Home Counties or Home England leagues, Middleton Cup or John’s Trophy, Balcomb Trophy or Walker Cup, White Rose Trophy or Amy Rose Bowls Competitions. It also applies to competitors reaching National Finals where the Bowls England Code of Conduct will also be read and applied in conjunction with this document. A bowler shall, at all times, conduct themselves in a manner that reflects favourably upon fellow bowlers and Bowls Oxfordshire, both on and off the Bowling Green.
1. Report punctually at the prescribed time and place, in accordance with the issued team sheet or as agreed with the team manager.
2. Comply with the County’s dress code as stated on the team sheet.
3. Act responsibly in relation to consumption of alcohol before and after a match.
4. No consuming of alcohol is permitted during the match, on or off the bowling green.
5. Know and comply with the Bowls England Anti-Doping rules, policies & practices that apply to your level of bowling/competition. Not use or possess any prohibited substance or prohibited method without a valid and justifiable reason. If in doubt check. 6. Demonstrate respect to colleagues, opponents and officials and not subject them to any form of physical or verbal abuse at any time.
7. Smoking on the green (including electronic devices) is prohibited at all times.
8. The use of mobile phones during play is prohibited.
9. Adhere to Bowls England social media Policy (please refer to Bowls England website). The following are guidelines regarding Social Media activity:
a. You must not post information or make comments likely to bring the County into disrepute or which are derogatory or disrespectful in any way to the County or its officials.
b. Comments should not be speculative or have an actual or negative impact on the County’s reputation or cause embarrassment to the County, its Officers and players or be intended to do the same or be posted without proper regard to the potential harm.
c. It is forbidden to post any pictures or statements that may embarrass other members, players or officials representing the County.
10. Any breaches of obligations may result in:
a. your removal from the team and replaced by a travelling reserve.
b.de-selection for the next fixture(s).
11. Bowls Oxfordshire reserves the right to deal with any other misconduct in accordance with Bowls England – Regulation 9. (Misconduct)
PLAYERS AGREEMENT
All players making themselves available for a representative match will be deemed to have agreed to & read the Bowls Oxfordshire Code of Conduct above, which will also be displayed on the BO Website and will adhere to the guidelines provided.
