Within Oxfordshire, there are over 40 coaches available to assist new and experienced bowlers in all aspects of their game. Coaching in Oxfordshire follows the structure laid down by the English Bowls Coaching Scheme (EBCS).

Within the EBCS – as in all other sports, there are four levels of coach:

  • Foundation Coach – learning how to be a coach. May coach beginners within their own club. Cannot coach under-18’s or vulnerable people unless under supervision.
  • Club Coach – May coach beginners or experienced players within their own club.
  • Senior Coach – May coach beginners or experienced players throughout the county.
  • Advanced Coach – May coach advanced techniques to experienced players throughout the country.
