Under 25s Day 2014

U25 Day Winners 2014

The seventh Under 25s Day was hosted at Watlington BC on Sunday 31st August with twenty-five players from across the county taking part. The event was once again a great success and played in excellent weather conditions.

The teams were drawn at the beginning of the day and then played a round robin of five eight-end games throughout the day along with spiders and a bowl for goal competition. The emphasis, as always, was very much on having fun but also on team building and to introduce newer players to competitive play in a friendly environment. Matt Canfield and Jonathan Dadson both of Thame made their first appearances in the competition along with several players who have played in each one since the event was first held in 2008. Both newcomers walked away with medals at the end.

Winners: George Schwab (Banbury Borough), Joe Glenn (The Oxford), Matt Canfield (Thame), Katie Bland (Shiplake Village)

Runners-Up: Sam Muir (Carterton), Dan Swanson (Bicester), Jonathan Dadson (Thame), Claire Soden (Watlington)

Third Place: Ryan Full (Carterton), Joe Woodward (Kidlington), Ben Dickson (Woodstock), Emma Gilkes (Watlington)

The Men’s Under 25s conclude their programme next Sunday at South Oxford BC when they take on Bucks, Middlesex and Surrey in the Four Counties Top 11 competition. Please get along to support if you’re able.
